IN SEARCH OF THE PERFECT SALAD

Like most children of the 80’s, Jill grew up eating a lot of processed foods and iceberg lettuce salads. It wasn’t until a *much better looking and fit* friend introduced her to a plant-based diet did she discover the power of dark leafy greens. Feeling noticeably more energetic during the day, the habit of eating greens daily stuck.

As a native of Michigan, Jill has spent her fair share of cold weather months picking rotten lettuce out of a pre-packaged bag that she bought just the day before. Can you blame the lettuce though? It comes from 2,000 miles away, losing freshness and nutrients during its long journey. After learning there was a way to create hyper local, sustainable food systems for leafy greens, she was compelled to bring this technology to her community.
